Tina Barnett

Tina joined Thames Valley Police in 1987 where she spent 3 years as an operational officer before transferring to Northamptonshire Police.  In Northamptonshire police she worked in a number of different roles including, Professional Standards, Neighbourhood policing, Public Protection, Intelligence and Criminal investigations especially the investigations of hate crimes.  After a period of time as a Temporary Superintendent in 2011 Tina transferred to the Police Service of Northern Ireland where she currently a Detective Superintendent. 


Tina has a strong commitment to progressing gender issues within the police service with a specific interest in developing capacity within under-represented groups.  She is a mentor and coach, an aspect of work she finds very rewarding.  Tina has a family and is strongly committed towards advocating and demonstrating a work life balance can be achieved for officers and staff whilst still enjoying a rewarding and enriching career within the police service.
