ACC Jo Farrell

Assistant Chief Constable, Northumbria Police

Jo Farrell is Assistant Chief Constable in Northumbria Police and is currently responsible for all Area Commands and the Special Constabulary.

Mrs Farrell joined Northumbria Police in 2002 as a Chief Inspector having previously served within Cambridgeshire Constabulary.

Her service profile within the police is extensive and varied working predominantly within operational duties/neighbourhood duties.

In addition to the uniformed response policing role she has performed specialist public order and firearms duties and has completed the Gold Commander's course in both fields. In February 2010 she became Chief Superintendent and lead for the force ‘Business Review Implementation Team’.

Mrs Farrell was an Area Commander in 2012.  Her command was Northumberland Area Command before leaving to complete the Strategic Command Course in January 2013.

She is married with two stepsons and a daughter, and enjoys family life, cooking and keeping fit.
